Winter Prices In Effect!![]()
Lowest Prices of the Year Home
A secluded gem, this Maryland private island haven has been sealed off by Russian spies, the first Gulf War was planned in the sunroom, and Truman Capote was a guest in the 60's. Now the sanctuary gate secures the half-mile drive through 52 acres of bird sanctuary before opening to our 6 acre island of gardens and lawn. The sun rises over the Choptank River and sets over the Chesapeake Bay, which make wind, waves and endless water views the hallmark. A pair of nesting eagles, resident osprey, migrating butterflies, waterfowl and songbirds are commonly seen along with Bay dolphin; and the back cove is a spawning grounds for rockfish. At night the stars are uninterrupted, another surprise of nature, making lodging at Black Walnut Point Inn a quiet, secret place of peace - all just an hour and a half from the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. ![]() Relax
By far, the most popular activity on this eastern shore point is doing nothing. But the pool, hammocks, Adirondack chairs and long gravel drive encourage unwinding with a good book or slowing to a ramble, and only occasionally lifting binoculars. The constant sound of waves and the waterfront view in every direction help one stand still.
Restore
We serve breakfast and offer tea and snacks, but once guests arrive they don’t want to leave. Please bring your favorite drink to store in the house refrigerator or a cabin’s kitchen. We have a grill by the pool for guests available for guests staying in a cabin. Particularly in winter, guests often bring all their supplies to hole up in a cabin in front of the fireplace.
Revive
We encourage everyone to bring bikes, kayaks or canoes, but there is plenty to explore by foot. In addition to the pool, the great lawn is perfect for croquet, the dock has landed substantial rockfish, and there is always a good breeze for kite flying.
Romance
Black Walnut Point Bed and Breakfast has an expansive water view from every room, perfect for celebrating birthdays, anniversaries or future anniversaries. In fact, couples can view miles of open water in the waterfront cabins and Tilghman room from their king-sized beds. Black Walnut Point has also been the sight of many engagements, all of which ended very well.
